Privacy Policy

• Account information, such as your name, email address, profile image, and account identifier, when you sign in with Google or Apple.
• Trip content you enter or generate, including destinations, dates, preferences, activities, notes, and saved itineraries.
• Place and route searches needed to show map locations, directions, travel times, and venue details.
• Basic technical data that our hosting and authentication providers process to operate and secure the service.

We use this information only to authenticate you, generate and edit itineraries, save your trips, provide maps and directions, enable sharing, prevent abuse, and maintain the service. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.

Trip Planner uses service providers including Firebase for authentication and cloud storage, Google Maps Platform for place and route information, and Vercel for application hosting. Information is sent to these providers only as needed to perform the feature you use and is handled under their respective privacy terms.

When you use our AI features (trip generation, itinerary editing, activity descriptions), the text you enter (destination, dates, interests, notes, adjustment instructions) is sent to Google Gemini and OpenAI (ChatGPT) for processing. These services process the text to generate responses, then return results to us for display in the app. Google and OpenAI act as data processors and are contractually required to protect your data with the same or stronger safeguards as we describe in this policy. We do not send your name, email, contacts, location, or other personally identifying information to these AI services — only the trip-related text you enter into the app.

AI features are off until you accept the in-app consent prompt. You can revoke that consent anytime from Settings → Allow AI features; with AI off, no trip text is sent to Google Gemini or OpenAI and you can still view, share, and manually edit saved itineraries.

Saved trips remain associated with your account until you delete a trip or your account. Shared links reveal the itinerary to anyone who has that link, so share them only with people you trust. You can permanently delete your account and all saved trips from the account menu inside the app.

Trip Planner is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the app changes; the effective date above will be updated when we do.
